Tracie Mahaffey
Senior Teaching Faculty and Director of Undergraduate Studies
Department of Philosophy
Florida State University
I am a native Texan. I grew up in Houston (Go Astros!) and lived in Austin for several years before moving to Tallahassee in 2003. I am a first generation college student and I was the first person in my immediate family to earn a college degree. I earned my undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Texas State University and my master’s and doctoral degrees in Philosophy from Florida State University.
I have been a faculty member of the Department of Philosophy at Florida State University since August of 2010. I currently serve the department as Senior Teaching Faculty and Director of Undergraduate Studies. During my time at FSU, I have taught over 20 different courses. I have also had the pleasure of teaching at FSU’s Study Center in Valencia, Spain.
When I am not teaching, I love cooking, traveling, and spending time with my wonderful partner and our dogs.
